Basketball & Cheerleading
Join FCA Sports for a youth basketball and cheerleading program held at The Chapel (2505 W Hamilton Rd. S, Fort Wayne, IN 46814) starting in January. This 8-week developmental league is designed for athletes of all skill levels. Basketball registration is open to ages 5 through 5th grade. Our goal is to introduce your athlete to basketball, teach the game's fundamentals, and improve their skills, as well as to invest in their spiritual growth. Cheerleading is open to ages 5 -5th grade and, in this program, the girls will learn sideline chants, floor cheers, dances, and small stunts to perform at games. Evaluations for basketball players will be held at The Chapel on November 18th from 6-8PM to assess skills and experience so that your child can be placed on the appropriate team. There will be makeup evaluations on Dec 4th if you are unable to make the first one. This is NOT a tryout but your child will not be placed on a team without first being evaluated. FCA Staff and basketball leadership will put together teams based on these evaluation scores. Cheerleaders don't have evaluations but can come to the Chapel on November 18th if they'd like to try on a sample uniform. Space is limited for cheer so sign up early! The cheer registration will also include an optional one-day camp to sign up for on Saturday December 13th from 9-11 at the Chapel. Weekly practices for both basketball and cheerleading will begin January 6th and be held on Tuesdays OR Thursdays as individual coaches determine. All games will be held on Saturdays starting January 10th and going through Feb 28th, times TBD. March 7th will serve as a make-up day in the event of a cancellation. Once the teams are set up, coaches will be reaching out toward the end of December to schedule the first practices. We are looking forward to a great season! If you have a 6th-8th grader who would like play, please see our Club Team registration.
