Join FCA Sports for a youth basketball and cheerleading program held at The Chapel (2505 W Hamilton Rd. S, Fort Wayne, IN 46814) starting in January. This 8-week developmental league is designed for athletes of all skill levels. Basketball registration is open to ages 5 through 8th grade. Our goal is to introduce your athlete to basketball, teach the game's fundamentals, and improve their skills, as well as to invest in their spiritual growth. Cheerleading is open to grades K-5 and, in this program, the girls will learn sideline chants, floor cheers, dances, and small stunts to perform at games. Evaluations for basketball players will be held at The Chapel on November 18th and 20th and December 3rd and 5th to assess skills and experience so that your child can be placed on the appropriate team. Your child will only need to come to one of these nights. This is NOT a tryout but your child will not be placed on a team without first being evaluated. After all evaluations have been completed, the coaches will participate in a blind draft based on each athlete’s ability and skill-assessment. You will be notified of the age level/league your child will be playing in and the best developmental program for their skill level. Cheerleading will hold one night of evaluations on November 18th. Space is very limited for cheer so sign up early! The cheer registration will also include an optional one-day camp to sign up for. Weekly practices for both basketball and cheerleading will begin January 7th and be held on Tuesdays OR Thursdays as individual coaches determine. All games will be held on Saturdays starting January 11th and going through March 1st, times TBD. March 8th will serve as a make-up day in the event of a cancellation. Once the teams are set up, coaches will be reaching out toward the end of December to schedule the first practices. We are looking forward to a great season!
